Storytelling Mission

Soul Stories facilitates a Mental Health Storytelling Program for middle and high school students utilizing the principals of Social Emotional Learning, Narrative Therapy, and Dr. Judith Herman's Stages of Trauma Recovery. Our mission is to teach students how to develop personal tools and build meaningful community that supports their social, emotional and mental wellbeing. We do this by providing students a safe, consistent and structured space to engage in intentional play-based activities, personal story writing, facilitated sharing and creative expression.

We offer:

One-off
workshops

Up to twelve weeks
of reoccurring workshops

Teacher & organizational trainings

Customized packages to suit the needs of your community

Designed to complement, not replace, existing counseling and academic supports, the program creates in-person spaces where students build emotional regulation, empathy, and positive peer relationships without being required to disclose personal trauma. Using a strengths-based, youth-centered approach, students cocreate norms, choose activities, and explore identity through values, relationships, and personal growth. Flexible and low disruption, Soul Stories can be integrated into English Language Arts, Social Studies, advisory periods, enrichment blocks, or after-school programming, supporting improved school climate, student engagement, and readiness to learn.
