Through evidence-based, playful exercises, meaningful dialogue and coping skill development, participants leave feeling more hopeful, confident and connected.

Social
Change

We seek to serve under-resourced and historically oppressed communities through equitable and culturally competent care.

Soul Stories began in 2014 as a grassroots community. A small group of local artists and community members gathered to share stories and connect. What started as intimate meetups quickly grew into something much bigger.

Over the years, our storytelling events blossomed into powerful community experiences, bringing together creatives, researchers, business owners, and neighbors from all walks of life. We’ve now reached over 6,000 people across 175 events and workshops throughout the Denver metro area.

Some of our most impactful events include:

The People
We Love

Black Community Matters

Unpact: A Dialogue on Sexual Consent

Facing the Divide: A Conversation Between Liberals and Conservatives

Each event was created and hosted by diverse community members who reflected the voices and experiences of the people they were designed for. At Soul Stories, we believe that when everyone has a seat at the table, the stories we tell can truly transform lives.

In 2021, as the world rapidly changed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we pivoted from hosting events to creating something deeply meaningful: Mental Wellness Storytelling Workshops. These workshops offer a welcoming, low-barrier space for underserved youth to explore their emotions, share their stories, and connect with others.

Rooted in social-emotional learning, trauma recovery, and narrative therapy, our workshops help teens build emotional resilience, express themselves creatively, and feel seen and supported.

Over the past four years, we’ve had the honor of working with 800 incredible young people, ages 12–21, from foster care, low-income, immigrant, and refugee/asylee backgrounds. Every story shared is a step toward healing, growth, and empowerment!
